Some CSU, Chico faculty are now offering students an optional experience using virtual world technology such as Second Life. From Wikipedia:
Chico State is in the process of moving its virtual campus in Second Life, so for information about this contact the Technology & Learning Program at x6167, or Jim Aird at x3209.
If you are interested in seeing the campus in Second Life, you must first get a free account and create an avatar. The minimum system requirements, client download and instructions to create an account are on the Second Life Web site, http://www.secondlife.com.
|Before You Teach in Second Life|
It is not recommended that faculty attempt to use Second Life in their courses alone. If you would like to learn more about teaching and learning in virtual worlds please contact TLP's consultant, Jim Aird at extension x3209.
